Outlook 1: Innovation in technology and electronics drives industrial development
Continuous revolutionary innovations and the introduction of technologies in the electronic field are propelling market growth for passive components in many regions. Consumer electronics such as music players, digital cameras and laptop computers are promoting demand for passive devices. Further innovations and integration of navigation and infotainment features such as Global Positioning System (GPS) are also pushing the market forward. In addition, the combination of rapidly expanding 5G network infrastructure and high-speed Internet has laid a solid foundation for market demand.
Outlook 2: The collaborative implementation of IoT promotes industrial development
IoT devices are transforming industrial sectors around the world, enabling manufacturing facilities to increase operational efficiency and overall production capacity by providing ease of operation and reducing total system downtime. In addition, due to the development of Industry 4.0, many industrial facilities have started deploying various connected devices in order to streamline operations through remote monitoring. The widespread use of IoT devices in various industrial applications, such as motion control and process automation, is expected to drive the passive component market to new heights within the next few years.
Outlook 3: The advent of 5G era promotes the development of integrated passive devices
Passive components must be integrated into products such as balancers, filters and duplexers to make them compliant with 5G standards. The telecom industry will particularly benefit from the integration of IPD as it will help reduce the size and energy consumption of telecom infrastructure projects. In addition, 3D Glass Solutions' high-efficiency 5G IPD RF filter is further evidence of the driving development in the integrated passive component industry.
